Nick Clarke (email: Nicholas.Clarke@tessella.co.uk) successfully completed his Ph.D. on "Applications of modern valence bond theory to small molecules" with David Cooper in the Department of Chemistry at Liverpool University in 1995. He then worked with the research group of Mario Raimondi before working with Peter Knowles in Birmingham. He now works for a company called Tessella.

Terry Cunningham

Terry Cunningham successfully completed his Ph.D. on "Hypervalency: the spin-coupled point of view" with David Cooper in the Department of Chemistry at Liverpool University in 1995. He is now teaching in the north of Ireland.

Jason Forrest

Kathy Johnson

Kathy Johnson (email: K.A.Johnson@liv.ac.uk) graduated from the University of London in 1980 and obtained her Ph.D. at University College London in 1984. She then spent 18 months at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (in Gaithersburg, Maryland). In 1985 she joined the Department of Chemistry at Liverpool University as a lecturer. Her research interests include speed of sound measurements for critical fluids, studies of supercritical solubility, and the use of a combination of neutron diffraction experiments and computer simulations to investigate the structure of molecular fluids.

Fabio Penotti

Fabio Penotti (email: fabio@rs15.csrsrc.mi.cnr.it) graduated in Chemistry from the University of Milan in 1983 and successfully completed his Ph.D. with Joe Gerratt in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol in 1987. Since 1989 he has been working for the Italian National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) in Milan. His main research interests currently centre on multi-configuration spin-coupled theory, with a penchant for basis-set optimization. He moved recently to the same department as Mario Raimondi.

Brian Petch

Brian Petch (email: Brian.Petch@astrazeneca.com) graduated in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry at Liverpool University and subsequently completed his MSc by Research on "Theoretical studies of ionic solids under high pressure and the lithium dimer anion" with David Cooper.

Guido Raos

Guido Raos (email: guido@iris.chem.polimi.it) graduated in Chemistry at the University of Milan in 1989 and subsequently completed his Ph.D. on "Modern valence bond theory of molecular structure and reactivity" with Joe Gerratt in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol in 1993. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow working with G. Allegra in the Department of Chemistry at the Polytechnic of Milan. His main current research topic is polymer physics, although he also works on spin-coupled theory.
